Behavior Research Laboratory

About the Behavior Research Lab

The Behavior Research Lab is a unique experimental resource for obtaining behavioral data that can inform our understanding of human cognitive and social processes, including their role in a variety of mental and physical health-related conditions, such as diabetes and substance dependence, as well as developmental conditions such as autism and intellectual disability. A key goal is to obtain high quality behavioral data at sufficient volumes to enable the development of novel AI models and methods. A long-standing objective is to develop and rigorously validate AI tools that can automate behavioral analysis, thereby achieving data quality equal to human experts, but obtained via a scalable approach.

To support these research goals, the lab works across the following areas:

  • Data Collection & Curation: We ethically collect, curate, and manage datasets related to human behavior.

  • Data Annotation: We provide internal annotation services with trained annotators to ensure high-quality labeled data.

  • Model Evaluation: We collaborate with behavior science experts to rigorously evaluate AI models, ensuring they are reliable and accurate.
