Haoyong Lan

Haoyong is a second-year graduate student in the School of Information Sciences studying information science. He completed his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (also from the University of Illinois) in spring 2019, where he conducted research on power systems and data science. Haoyong worked on the Self-Tracking Kiosk project during his Jump ARCHES Summer Internship, which aimed to use non-contact vitals sensors to measure body temperature and mobile device cameras to measure pulse rates, which ultimately would notify building administrators if a student is at risk for COVID-19. He specifically worked on the application and hardware of the project by developing a mobile Flutter application.
